This year, I ran a series of free portrait sessions to honour our kaumātua.


For those who have watched the land change, who carry the weight of knowing, who remember what came before — I wanted to gift them something. A moment to be seen.


Classical portraits, inspired by the paintings of our ancestors. Studies of mana, of mauri, of the depth in their eyes and the stories they carry. No posing. No performance. Just them, exactly as they arrived.


This is how I give back. This is how I say thank you to those who paved the way.

DESCENDANTS

For the descendants of those who came before us, and who are paving the way for those that come after us. These sessions are to honour you.


This is a portrait in the classical tradition — a study of who you are and where you come from. Through my lens, I will gently guide you as we capture your mana, your mauri, and your story.


Come as a descendant. Wear something that carries meaning — kākahu, taonga, a garment passed down. You arrive, you settle, and I do the rest. There is no posing script, no performance. Just you, exactly as you are.


What's included

A 15-minute portrait sitting, one final edited image, and a $100 print voucher delivered with your private online gallery. Your proofs arrive within 24 hours, and your finished portrait within five weeks — ready to be held, framed, and passed down.
